Monday Night Football Prediction – 49ers vs. Cardinals

The San Francisco 49ers visit the Arizona Cardinals this week on Monday Night Football.

Arizona is coming off a huge win against their division rivals Rams and have a solid lead in the NFC West.  The Cardinals have an amazing pass offense this season lead by quarterback Kurt Warner and receivers Boldin and Fitzgerald.

San Francisco is coming off a bye week and hoping to pull off a win for new head coach Mike Singletary.  The 49ers are struggling in every area, but they will be looking to running back Frank Gore to put on a good show for a national audience.

Considering Kurt Warner’s outstanding play, Spencer (7-3), David (5-5), Chase (4-6), and I (3-7) can’t help but go with the Cardinals for the win this week.

Can the 49ers pull off the big upset, or will the Cardinals’ offense put them over the top again?  Who do you think will win this Monday night?  Take our poll and let us know.

College Football Game of the Week – #1 Alabama at #16 LSU

We can’t wait for this weekend’s big game when the Alabama Crimson Tide head to Death Valley to take on the LSU Tigers.

The #1 ranked Crimson Tide can secure the SEC West and a trip to the SEC title game with a win against the Tigers.  This game also marks the return of Coach Nick Saban to Baton Rouge.  Saban led LSU to a 2003 BCS championship before leaving for the NFL and then eventually ending up at SEC rival Alabama.  Although both coaches are trying to downplay this story line, you can bet the 92,000+ fans at Death Valley will make their feelings about Coach Saban known.

The Tigers must have a win this week if they have any hopes of reaching the SEC title game.  They have struggled against SEC rivals in the past few weeks, experiencing big losses against Florida and Georgia.  LSU has beaten the Crimson Tide in their last five meetings, however, and will be looking to their running game to continue that streak.

Will Alabama remain undefeated and clinch the SEC West, or can LSU bring the major upset and take down their former coach?  Take our poll and let us know your call.

It’s the perfect time of year to shop for some Alabama Crimson Tide merchandise, LSU merchandise, or other NCAA merchandise for all the sports fans on your Christmas list.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Steelers vs. Redskins

The Washington Redskins host the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first time in 20 years on Monday Night Football this week.  The Steelers (5-2) and the Redskins (6-2) are both serious playoff contenders and need a win on Monday to stay in the hunt.

Pittsburgh has had no problem defeating AFC teams this season, but it’s the NFC teams that have given them problems.  Their two losses came from the NFC East Eagles and Giants.  With the help of their number one ranked defense, they are looking to change that trend this week with a win against the Redskins.

Washington will look to the NFL’s leading rusher, Clinton Portis, to continue his outstanding play.  The Redskins have lost their last 3 meetings with the Steelers, but home field advantage may give them the edge this season.

Spencer (6-3), David, (4-5), and Chase (3-6) are giving the Steelers the victory this week.  I’m (3-6) putting my hopes in Clinton Portis and calling it a Redskins win.

Who do you think will win this AFC vs. NFC battle?  Take our poll and let us know.

College Football Game of the Week – #1 Texas at #7 Texas Tech

Another big one in the Big 12 this weekend as two undefeated teams meet.  The #1 Texas Longhorns head to Lubbock to take on the #7 Texas Tech Red Raiders.

This is the Longhorn’s fourth straight game against a team ranked 11th or better.  In their last three games, they have taken down Oklahoma, Missouri, and Oklahoma State.  This may be their final big test on the way to a National Championship, as the Red Raiders are their last ranked opponent of the season.

The Red Raiders are enjoying their highest ranking in 32 years and their first 8-0 start since 1976.  The road ahead remains tough for them however, as Texas Tech still has to face Oklahoma State and Oklahoma after this run-in with the Longhorns.

Who will reign supreme in Lubbock this Saturday night?  Take our poll and let us know what you think.

Whether you live in Texas or are just a fan of Texas football, stock up on Texas Longhorns merchandise, Texas Tech Red Raiders merchandise, or NCAA merchandise for any of your favorite schools.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Colts vs. Titans

This Monday night brings us the Indianapolis Colts taking on the Tennessee Titans. Who would have guessed eight weeks ago that the Titans would have the undefeated record at this point in the season and the Colts would have 3 losses?

Although Tennessee is the only remaining undefeated team, they know that this week will be a big test for them.  They are ready to earn some respect after experiencing their best start in team history, and they know defeating the defending AFC South champions is a great way to do just that.

Indianapolis is definitely not playing up to their usual standards.  This is their worst start since 2001 when they ended the season at 6-10 and missed the playoffs.  Injuries to Bob Sanders and Joseph Addai have not helped the situation.  To have any chance at all at winning a sixth straight division title, they know this game is a must-win.

We are split down the middle in our predictions again this week.  Spencer (5-3) and David (3-5) think Tennessee will remain undefeated.  Chase (3-5) and I (3-5) are sure that Indianapolis will get it together this week and get a big win.

What’s your call on Monday’s night match-up?  Take our poll and let us know.

We have lots of Indianapolis Colts merchandise, Tennessee Titans merchandise, and other NFL merchandise for the football fan in your family.

College Football Game of the Week – #3 Penn State at #9 Ohio State

This week we’re featuring a game that will likely decide the Big Ten title as #3 Penn State Nittany Lions head to Columbus to take on the #9 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Penn State is looking to break a 10-game road losing streak against ranked opponents and also get a win in Columbus for the first time since 1978.  The Nittany Lions looked great against Michigan last week, beating them 46-17 after having lost nine straight against the Wolverines in previous years.

Ohio State could prove to be hard to beat though.  Against ranked opponents, the Buckeyes have won 12 of their last 13 conference home games.  They had an easy time defeating Michigan State last weekend by a score of 45-7.

Can Penn State remain undefeated and continue their quest for the Big Ten title and possible National Championship?  Or will Ohio State continue their impressive play and get a sixth straight victory since their loss at USC?  Take our poll and let us know what you think.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Broncos vs. Patriots

The Denver Broncos take on the New England Patriots in an AFC match-up this Monday night.  Both teams are trying to avoid consecutive losses.

Although Denver’s quarterback, Jay Cutler, continues to play well, the rest of the offense has cooled somewhat.  They have failed to reach 20 points in their last three games, losing two of those.  But keep in mind that the Broncos have won 16 of the last 19 match-ups against the Patriots.

With the loss of Tom Brady, New England doesn’t even resemble the 16-0 team from last season.  The offense has scored 20 points or more in only 1 of 5 games this season, and the defense is allowing 5.92 yards per play, which is 27th in the NFL.

As you can guess from our prediction records so far, there have been a lot of surprises this year in Monday Night Football.  This week we are split down the middle  Chase (3-4) and David (3-4) choose Denver to win.  Spencer (4-3) and I (2-5) think the Patriots will dig deep and find a way to win this game.

What are your thoughts?  Will the Broncos continue their dominance over the Patriots, or was last week’s huge defeat at the hands of the Chargers enough to inspire the Patriots to get back on track and grab a win?  Take our poll and let us know who you think will get the victory.

Keep in mind that Denver Broncos merchandise, New England Patriots merchandise, and other NFL merchandise can make great Christmas gifts.

College Football Game of the Week – #11 Missouri at #1 Texas

This is the third week in a row that we’ve featured a Big 12 match-up in our game of the week, but how can we help it when each of these games carries such weight in the quest for a national championship bid. This Saturday, #11 Missouri Tigers take on the #1 Texas Longhorns in Austin.

Texas had an incredible game last week, knocking then #1 Oklahoma out of the top spot with a decisive 45-35 win.  That was their first big test of the season, and they passed with flying colors.  This week, the Longhorns look to prove that they deserve that #1 ranking.

Missouri is still hoping to win the Big 12 North despite struggling last week in their first loss of the season.  Quarterback Chase Daniels is looking to redeem himself after throwing 3 interceptions in the second half against Oklahoma State.

Can Texas hold on to their number 1 ranking, or will Missouri play the spoilers?  Take our poll and let us know who you think will win Saturday.

As always, you can find great NCAA merchandise, including Missouri Tigers merchandise and Texas Longhorns merchandise, at MySportsDecor.com.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Giants vs. Browns

The New York Giants head to Cleveland to take on the Browns in Monday night’s game.  Both teams came into the season with high hopes, but only one has been experiencing the season they expected.

Super Bowl champs New York Giants are 4-0 and lead the NFL in total offense, points, first downs, rushing yards, and yards per carry.  Their defense is looking almost as good, ranking second in total points allowed, second in passing yards allowed, and third in total yards.  The Giants haven’t lost in Cleveland since 1973.

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a bye week which followed their only win of the season against division rivals Cincinnati Bengals.  They are hoping the extra time to get everyone healthy will help them avenge the embarrasing loss to the Giants during the preseason.

Our gang does not see an upset happening here.  Spencer (4-2), David (3-3), Chase (3-3), and I (2-4) all say the Giants will still be undefeated after Monday night’s game.  And in defense of last week’s predictions, the Saints really should have won that game!

What do you think?  Will the Giants remain undefeated, or can the Browns pull off a major win to get their season back on track?  Take our poll and let us know your pick.
