The Pittsburgh Steelers battle it out with the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday in Super Bowl XVIII.  Who will reign supreme?

Can the Arizona Cardinals offense featuring Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald put up record numbers as they’ve done most of the season?  Can the underdog win it all again, just like last year?

Or will the PIttsburgh Steelers punishing defense stop the Cardinals in their tracks?  Can Ben Roethlisberger earn his second Super Bowl ring even with a less-than-100% Hines Ward?

As last year’s match-up showed us, anything can happen in the Super Bowl.  Who do you think will come away with the victory?  Take our poll and let us know.

NFC Championship and AFC Championship – Who’s Heading to the Super Bowl?

If you made your guess weeks ago (like our guest blogger Chase did) about who would be playing in the AFC and NFC championships, you may have been a little off.  I don’t think many NFL fans would have counted on the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Baltimore Ravens being the last four teams standing.

The NFC Championship will feature the Philadelphia Eagles versus the Arizona Cardinals playing in Arizona.  The Cardinals have really found their game these last few weeks, achieving a nice mix of running and passing, and winning games they were never supposed to win.  All it took for the Eagles to start winning was to bench the quarterback for half a game.  That seemed to be the wake-up call for Donovan McNabb to get back to his winning ways.

Who will win this unlikely match-up and head to the Super Bowl?  Take our poll and let us know your pick.

The AFC Championship brings the Baltimore Ravens to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Steelers have won both meetings against the Ravens this season, but can the Ravens’ powerful defense prevent a third loss?  Take our poll and tell us which team will reign supreme this time.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Browns vs. Eagles

Week 15 brings us the Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles battling it out on Monday Night Football.

The Browns haven’t had much to cheer about this season.  They are currently on their third quarterback after injuries to Anderson and Quinn, while key players Edwards and Winslow are just not producing like last season.  On the up side, Cleveland has already had two Monday night victories this year, including a huge win against the New York Giants.

The Eagles are fighting for a playoff spot, so this is a critical game for them.  Thanks in part to the incredible running game of Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia has looked very good their last few games.  They dominated the Giants last week and are looking to continue that outstanding play.

As good as the Browns have looked in previous Monday night games, it’s just too hard to vote against the Eagles this week.  So Spencer (10-5), David (8-7), Chase (7-8), and I (4-11) are going with Philadelphia for the win.

What do you think?  Can the Browns pull off another Monday night upset, or will the Eagles cruise to a victory?  Take our poll to tell us your pick.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Buccaneers vs. Panthers

It’s a battle for the sole possession of the lead in the NFC South when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football.

Quarterback Jeff Garcia has led the Buccaneers to four straight victories.  He always plays well against the Panthers, winning his last five match-ups with them.  Tampa Bay is looking for a second straight NFC South title and can make that happen with wins against Carolina and next week’s opponent, Atlanta.

The Panthers have some big play-makers they will be looking to for this game.  DeAngelo Williams had the best game of his career last week rushing for four touchdowns against the Packers.  Wide receiver Steve Smith is also on a roll with 273 receiving yards in his last two games.

Spencer (9-5) and Chase (6-8) are picking the home team Panthers for the win this week.  David (8-6) and I (a sad 4-10) are going with the Buccaneers.

College Games of the Week: Alabama vs. Florida and Missouri vs. Oklahoma

The two biggest games of the week have got to be the SEC Championship and the Big 12 Championship.  The winner between Alabama and Florida will most likely be heading to the National Championship, while Oklahoma can seal its own trip to the big game with a win over Missouri.

The #1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide comes into this weekend undefeated yet are still considered the underdog.  The Florida Gators have been on fire following their one loss this season, winning each of their last seven games by at least four touchdowns.  This is shaping up to be one of the greatest conference championships of all time.

Tied for first place in the Big 12 South with Texas and Texas Tech, the Oklahoma Sooners earned their trip to the Big 12 championship by placing ahead of both of those teams in the BCS rankings.  They just need to avoid an upset at the hands of the Missouri Tigers for a likely trip to the BCS Championship.  Missouri lost to Oklahoma in last year’s Big 12 Championship thus ending their hopes for a BCS title, and they would love to return the favor.

Who do you think will win their conference championship games?  Take our polls and let us know your picks.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Jaguars vs. Texans

This week’s Monday Night Football brings us the Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the Houston Texans.  These two teams who seemed so promising at the end of last season are both curently at 4-7 and tied for last place in the AFC South.

Jacksonville will be looking to running back Maurice Jones-Drew to have a big night and pull them out of their current slump.  The Jaguars have lost four of their last five and are trying to avoid finishing the season with a losing record for the first time since 2003.

Houston will still be relying on back-up quarterback Sage Rosenfels to lead the team to a victory.  The Texans broke a three game losing streak last week with a win at Cleveland.  Rookie running back Steve Slaton should play a big part in front of his first Monday night audience.

Our gang is split again on this one.  Spencer (8-5) and David (7-6) think the home team Texans get the win.  Chase (6-7) and I (4-9) predict the Jaguars will recapture some of last season’s magic and come away with the victory.

Who do you think will get the win and crawl out of last place in the AFC South?  Take our poll and let us know your pick.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Packers vs. Saints

The Green Bay Packers head to the Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints for Monday Night Football.  Both of these 5-5 teams know that a win is critical at this point in the season.

Green Bay is currently a half game behind Chicago and Minnesota in the NFC North and need a win to stay tied for the lead.  They have a solid running game and the hopes of a few Aaron Rodgers/Greg Jennings combinations to get past the Saints’ secondary.

New Orleans is in last place in the NFC South and really needs a win to keep any playoff hopes alive.  The Saints will be looking to running backs Deuce McAllister and Pierre Thomas to have big nights as Reggie Bush will still be on the sidelines due to injury.

This looks like it could be a high-scoring game, and Spencer (8-4) and I (4-8) think the Packers will win it in the end.  David ( 6-6) and Chase (5-7) are putting their votes behind the arm of Drew Brees and the Saints.

Who do you think will get the victory?  Take our poll and let us know your prediction.

College Football Game of the Week – #2 Texas Tech at #5 Oklahoma

It’s another huge Big 12 game when the Texas Tech Red Raiders head to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners this Saturday.

Texas Tech is looking to clinch the Big 12 South Division title with a win and achieve an 11-0 record for the first time ever.  Prior to last week’s bye, the Red Raiders have had three impressive victories against Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma has quietly been maintaining their spot near the top of the BCS rankings.  They have scored atleast 35 points in all of their games this season, with their only loss coming to Texas in October.  Since that loss, the Sooners have averaged an incredible 57.3 points and 590.8 yards a game.

Who will win the battle of these Big 12 offensive giants?  Take our poll and let us know your prediction.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Browns vs. Bills

It’s the Cleveland Browns battling the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football this week.  Both of these underachieving teams are desperate for a win.

The Cleveland Browns at 3-6 have suffered two home losses after blowing big leads late in the games.  The losses have sparked talk from some players that teammates are quitting before the final whistle.  The Browns continue to pin their hopes of a turnaround on second-year quarterback Brady Quinn who took over the role of starter two weeks ago.

After winning five of their first six games, the Buffalo Bills have dropped three straight division games.  Quarterback Trent Edwards has thrown five interceptions and been sacked nine times in the three losses.  Buffalo is hoping to see better play from Edwards and running back Marshawn Lynch for Monday Night Football.

This looks like it could be a close one, but Spencer (8-3), David (6-5), Chase (5-6), and I (4-7) all think that Buffalo will pull out the win in the end.

Will Cleveland use the recent criticism from teammates as motivation to finish strong and win Monday night?  Or will Buffalo recapture some of the magic from earlier in the season and get the victory?  Take the poll and let us know your prediction.

It’s time to start your Christmas shopping by picking up some Cleveland Browns merchandise, Buffalo Bills merchandise, or other NFL merchandise for all the sports fans on your list.  You can also decorate for the holidays with Cleveland Browns Christmas merchandise, Buffalo Bills Christmas merchandise, or other Sports Christmas Decorations.

College Football Game of the Week – #25 South Carolina at #4 Florida

It’s another SEC match-up in our game of the week when the South Carolina Gamecocks take on the Florida Gators on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.

The Florida Gators clinched the SEC East and a trip to the SEC championship game last week with a win over Vanderbilt.  Although one of their season’s goals has been met, they are now concentrating on getting three more wins to stay in the hunt for the national championship.  They have won five straight since losing to Ole Miss in September.

The South Carolina Gamecocks have won six of their last seven and are back in the rankings for the first time in several months.  The Gamecocks are hoping to finish strong with two more wins in their regular season.  After alternating his two quarterbacks nearly every other play last week against Arkansas, Coach Spurrier promises that both will see action again this Saturday against the Gators.

Will Florida continue their recent run of blow-out victories, or will South Carolina pull off the upset and move further up in the rankings?  Take our poll and let us know what you think.

It’s a great time of year to check out some South Carolina Gamecocks Christmas merchandise and Florida Gators Christmas merchandise for some festive holiday decor.  You can also shop for other South Carolina Gamecocks merchandise, Florida Gators merchandise, and NCAA merchandise to fulfill all your holiday shopping needs.
