BCS National Championship – LSU Tigers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Monday Night brings us the much-anticipated BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans. In one of the craziest college football seasons in recent history, the championship finally comes down to #2 LSU Tigers versus #1 Ohio State Buckeyes.

LSU is the first two-loss team to play for the National Championship. Both of their losses this season came in triple-overtime games, the first to Kentucky and the second to Arkansas. So, as their coach Les Miles stated when making a case for LSU to play for the title, LSU is undefeated in regulation.

Ohio State’s only loss this season was to then unranked Illinois. This is their 2nd straight season to play for the National Championship, but they are certainly hoping this year turns out better than last year when they lost to the underdog Florida Gators.

In our house, there is no question of who we will be cheering for. We’re all Tiger fans through and through. In fact, our 11 year old son’s room is decked out entirely in purple and gold, and the LSU fight song can be found on his i-Pod. So on Monday night, we’ll all sport our Tiger shirts, wave our pennants and tiger paws, and forget that it’s a school night. Geaux Tigers!
