Monday Night Football Prediction – Packers vs. Broncos

The Green Bay Packers visit the Denver Broncos for this week’s Monday Night Football.

Brett Favre is looking like his old self this year, leading the Packers to a 5 – 1 record.

The Broncos are struggling a bit behind the arm of Jay Cutler, with a record of 3 – 3.

My (5 – 4) prediction goes to the Green Bay Packers for the win, though there may be some interceptions made by each defense. Lori (5 – 4), Chase (4 – 5) are also thinking Brett Favre will pull out the victory in prime time.

World Series: Red Sox vs. Rockies – Will the Cinderella Story Have a Happy Ending?

Game one of the World Series is tonight with the Colorado Rockies taking on the Boston Red Sox in Boston. This is shaping up to be a championship series that you won’t want to miss!

The Colorado Rockies are playing in their first World Series in franchise history. After entering the playoffs as a wildcard team, the Rockies surprised everyone by sweeping their first two series. After a long layoff, they will finally get their chance to play for the title.

The Boston Red Sox came back from being down 3-1 to the Cleveland Indians and are now pursuing their second championship in four years. Despite the brief scare in the Indians series, I don’t think anyone is surprised that the team with the league’s best 96 wins has found themselves playing in the World Series once again.

Although the Red Sox are the clear favorites, the Rockies just may have what it takes to cause a major upset. After all, they are the team that handed Josh Beckett his first loss in 2007. If they continue to play outstanding defense and can find a way to score more runs playing on the road, this Cinderella team may get the glass slipper in the end.

I am always one who loves to cheer for the underdog, so I’ll definitely be rooting for the Colorado Rockies tonight. I’m going to say Clint Hurdle and his Rockies will win the series in six games.

How about you? Take our quick poll to let us know who you think will win the World Series.

Whoever you are rooting for tonight, you can show your team loyalty by decorating your home or office with Colorado Rockies merchandise or Boston Red Sox merchandise.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Colts vs. Jaguars

The Indianapolis Colts venture down to Jacksonville to face their AFC South division opponents, the Jacksonville Jaguars, for Monday Night Football this week.

Sure, everyone knows the Colts are undefeated, but some may not realize that the Jaguars have only one loss for the season and are on a 4 game winning streak. Making it even more interesting is that the Jaguars handed the Colts a big loss last season.

Peyton Manning is 8 – 0 in Monday Night Football appearances, so you know he’ll bring his A-game. The Colts defense also seems to have improved their run defense since their last meeting.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a physical team and always make it very tough for the Colts. They have something to prove and the Jaguars probably plan on doing it in the limelight of Monday Night Football.

This should be a good game and I’m looking forward to watching it. Lori (4 – 4), Chase (3 – 5), and I (4 – 4) are all predicting that the Indianapolis Colts will stay undefeated with a win over the Jaguars.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Giants vs. Falcons

Monday Night Football goes down to Atlanta to bring us the New York Giants versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Combine the Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress connection with the Giants defense and the Falcons could have some trouble winning this one.

Lori (3 – 4), Chase (2 – 5), and I (3 – 4) all pick the Giants for the win over the Falcons this week.

Who do you think will win this one? Take our quick poll. It’s quick, easy and there’s no sign-up or log-in required!

Show your support for your pick by decorating your home or office with New York Giants merchandise or Atlanta Falcons merchandise. If your team loyalties lie elsewhere, you can decorate with other NFL merchandise.

Monday Night Football Prediction – Cowboys vs. Bills

This week’s Monday Night Football goes to Buffalo to bring us the Dallas Cowboys against the Buffalo Bills.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of only three unbeaten teams right now. Can they take care of the Bills? Or can the Bills pull an upset, maybe catching the Cowboys thinking ahead to next weeks’ unbeaten opponent?

Tony Romo has been performing well for the Cowboys this season, heading up the number one total offense in the NFL. A 5-0 start looks realistic.

The Buffalo Bills rank last in the NFL in total defense, further adding to a probable Cowboys win.

Lori (2 – 4), Chase (1 – 5), and I (2 – 4) all agree once again, picking the Cowboys for the win.

Who do you think will win this one? Take our quick poll. It’s quick, easy and there’s no sign-up or log-in required!

Way to go Brett! New Career Touchdown Passes Leader

Brett Favre, one of my favorite football players to watch, became the NFL leader in career touchdown passes on Sunday. Brett threw for his 421st touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Vikings, passing Dan Marino for the record.

My personal favorite scene in the celebration that took place after the touchdown was when Favre picked up his receiver, Greg Jennings, and carried him on his shoulder. Even the Minnesota home crowd had to love watching that picture of pure joy.

Even better for Brett is that fact that the Packers are 4-0 and one of only two undefeated teams in the NFC. If you’re keeping track, that’s 8 wins in a row dating back to the end of last season.

If you’re a Brett Favre fan too and are looking for a great way to commemorate this record-breaking season for him, check out our Brett Favre merchandise.

New Orleans Saints: Are the ‘Aints back?

This is a guest post on the New Orleans Saints by Chase, our 11 year old football statistician and 2005 Fantasy Football Champion.

What’s up with the Saints? Are the ‘Aints returning? The Saints are starting out with an 0-3 record and have been outscored by the opponent 103-38 in the season so far.

First was a lost to Peyton Manning and the Colts, then they got embarrassed by the Buccaneers, and last they lost to the Titans at home.

Geaux Saints! The Saints haven’t been playing at all like the Saints of last year. They’re looking like the old Saints. Even though they still have all the great players from last year like Drew Brees and Reggie Bush, they’re moving really slow. The team was all about the offense last year, and if they can’t dominate with the ball the whole team will collapse.

Everybody was thinking about the Saints and how they got New Orleans’ hopes up after Hurricane Katrina last year. Now, the Saints have stumbled and everybody is thinking of them as the ‘Aints again.

The Saints better practice and practice, taking advantage of their bye week, because they need all that they can get.

The New Orleans Saints are one of my favorite teams, so hopefully the Saints will rise once again!

Monday Night Football Prediction – Patriots vs. Bengals

Monday Night Football goes to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati this week to bring us the New England Patriots taking on the Cincinnati Bengals.

With the Tom Brady to Randy Moss connection, the Patriots seem to have all of the pieces clicking together for a Super Bowl run. As I’ve said before, I think they are THE team to beat right now.

The Bengals like to put up points, but they also seem to like giving them up. With Carson Palmer as my fantasy football quarterback, I certainly hope he throws a lot of touchdowns against the Pats.

My (1 – 4) pick for this week is the New England Patriots. I just don’t see the Bengals defense being able to stop them.

Lori (1 – 4) is also picking the Patriots for the win.

Chase (0 – 5) is thinking the Pats are going to win this one as well.
